Alexandria Farrell, DDS is a second year resident attending the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program. Alexandria was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology and a Business Essentials Certificate in 2016. During her 'gap years', she worked in an orthodontist's office in Bergen County for two years before attending Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she earned her DDS in 2022. While in dental school, she was a recipient of the Dr. James and Jill Lipton Summer Research Fellowship where she participated in the project titled: Patient-Dental Student Provider Communication in an Academic Dental Clinic Setting: A Dyadic Data Analysis, which was published in the Journal of Dental Education in August 2023. During residency, Alexandria collaborated with one of her co-residents, Dr. Alexandra Penta, to further the efforts of the exploratory study evaluating the relationship between extended breastfeeding and the development of early childhood caries. After completion of her residency program, Alexandria will be returning to New Jersey to begin her career as a pediatric dentist, where she will continue to integrate discussions regarding the breastfeeding-dental caries relationship into routine dental visits.
