Rachel D. Porter is a dedicated pediatric dental resident at Boston Univerity Goldman School of Dental Medicine with a D.M.D. from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine (2022), and a B.S. in Biology from Howard University. She received the Old North State Dental Society’s Community Commitment Award for her outstanding community service. As a member of dental associations like ADA, NDA, and AAPD, Rachel is well-established in her field. Rachel’s patient-centered approach focuses on comfort and positive communication to reduce anxiety. She prioritizes patient education, utilizing the tell-show-do technique and staying up-to-date with pediatric dental research. She’s an active member of the Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and conducts research on how social determinants of health affect children’s oral health. Beyond dentistry, Rachel enjoys travel, hiking, fitness, and has a strong passion for diet and nutrition. Her dedication to service, especially for youth, drives her career in pediatric dentistry, allowing her to make a meaningful impact while pursuing her passions.
