Darlene Jean, DMD is a second-year pediatric dental resident and Master of Science in Dentistry candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, presenting her thesis on The Value of Educating Teachers, Coaches, and Athletic Trainers on the Management of Dental Trauma. Dr. Jean was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies at Oakwood University where she majored in Biology. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Jean practiced as a General Dentist for several years before starting her post-doctoral residency in pediatric dentistry. Upon completing her residency, Dr. Jean plans on returning back to Florida. Dr. Jean enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She and her husband, Ophenson, have two children, Brielle and Malachi. The family enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and making new memories.
