Elizabeth Kleefisch, DDS is a second-year pediatric dental resident and Masters of Science in Dentistry candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry presenting her thesis on The Effect of Local Anesthesia When Used in Dental Restorative Cases Under General Anesthesia on Postoperative Discomfort. The study was supported by the Alexander Fellowship. Dr. Kleefisch, born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University, where she majored in biology and minored in business administration. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. During her time in dental school, she served as the secretary for the American Student Dental Association, was a member of the C. Edmund Kells Honors Society, and was a recipient of the Community Service Award for Pediatric Outreach. After completing her post-doctoral residency in pediatric dentistry in June 2024, Dr. Kleefisch plans to practice pediatric dentistry in Virginia while her husband serves in the United States Navy. Dr. Kleefisch is looking forward to working in private practice as she enjoys getting to give kids positive dental experiences and helping each overcome any fears they might have. Dr. Kleefisch values quality time with family and friends. She and her husband, Ray, have one daughter, Eliza Jane, and family dog, Goose. The family enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, and attending LSU sporting events when visiting their home state of Louisiana.
