Dr. Esmeralda R. Banda, a Texas native, received her B.A in Biology at the University of Texas at Dallas. She later received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. As a child of two immigrant parents, Dr. Banda can personally relate to the lack of access to dental care due to language and cultural barriers. As a clinician who strives to break those barriers, Dr. Banda decided to further enhance her skills and is a current Compromised Care and Hospital Dentistry Fellow at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. In the fellowship, she has been given the privilage to provide dental care at 2 local children hospitals as well as help the underserved population in community clinics. The fellowship has also allowed Dr. Banda to provide treatment to the special needs population, whom lack access to dental care nation wide. As a firm believer in providing access to dental care to all, Dr. Banda strives to continue that philosophy after completion of her fellowship.
