Sarah Balal, MDS/BDS is a second-year-pediatric dental resident and Masters of Science in Dentistry candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry presenting her thesis titles A Preliminary Report of a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial Comparing Ferric Sulfate With Zinc Oxide Eugenol and Non-eugenol Based Materials for Pulpotomy in Primary Molar Teeth. Dr. Balal, born and raised in Kuwait, completed her undergraduate studies at University of Leeds at the United Kingdom, Leeds city., where she was rewarded with a masters and bachelor of dental surgery and bachelor of science. During her time in dental school, she was also awarded the Watssman Prize in Clinical Dental practice, in 2016. After completing her post-doctoral residency in pediatric dentistry in June 2024, Dr. Balal plans to stay for a fellowship year in Virginia Commonwealth university, where she will be focusing on research and academic teaching. She will be going back to Kuwait to practice as a pediatric dentist after completing her fellowship. Dr. Balal is passionate about pediatric dentistry and she enjoys giving smiles to her pediatric and special health care needs patients. Dr. Balal and her husband have two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Balal loves to draw and she has a little art corner at home. She also enjoys traveling, hiking and going on road trips.
