Dr. Oyeniyi is a second-year pediatric dental resident at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry. An internationally trained dentist who completed dental school at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Abby practiced as an associate dentist for 4 years before relocating to the United States for professional advancement. She earned master’s degree in Oral Biology from Rutgers School of Dentistry with the research published in the Journal of Molecular Oral Microbiology. In addition, she obtained Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dentistry with honors in Community Oral Health.
Following her passion for promoting oral health especially in children from underserved communities, Dr. Oyeniyi completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with Pediatric Dentistry Enhanced Experience at Findlay, Ohio, an affiliate of NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs. As a result of her excellence in patient management, she was awarded a scholarship in public health and earned Advanced Certificate in Public Health from New York University, Global School of Public Health.
Prior to Pediatric Dental Residency, she worked as an associate/lead dentist in a non-profit organization with focus on preventing and treating oral diseases in children especially in immigrants’ communities and children with no insurance. Dr. Oyeniyi is passionate about instilling the knowledge and importance of oral hygiene in her patients from an early age. She values the ability to build awareness at such a critical point in child's development while making their experience positive, comfortable and fun!
Dr. Oyeniyi is a mother of two. At her leisure time, she loves spending time with her family, composing song, singing, pageant coaching, cooking, and traveling.
