Helen Chen is currently a third year dental student at NYU College of Dentistry.
After graduating from Columbia University with a B.A. in evolutionary biology, she worked for
two years as a research assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was then accepted into
the DDS program at NYU College of Dentistry in 2021.
At the same time, she joined Dr. Rabieh and Dr. Bromage’s group to investigate the treatment of
carious lesions with silver diamine fluoride considering different protocols in collaboration with
Dr. Crystal at the Pediatric dentistry clinic here at NYU College of Dentistry.
She participated in the Dental Academic Research Experience (DARE) program at NYUCD.
She recently received the “Michael C Alfano Award for Excellence in Research”, after
presenting one of her works at the NYUCD Research Day in April 2023.
Helen hopes to pursue a pediatric dental residency following graduation from NYU.
