Scott Schwartz, DDS, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. After Dr. Schwartz obtained his dental degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago, he completed a General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Continuing his journey southward, Dr. Schwartz spent three years in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where he obtained both a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the UNC School of Dentistry and a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Gillings' School of Global Public Health. During this time, Dr. Schwartz developed an interest in disparities in oral health, particularly among the LGBTQ+ population. Since arriving at Cincinnati Children's, Dr. Schwartz initiated an interprofessional collaboration with the Transgender Clinic, where he is actively examining how transgender youth interface with and view their oral health. Dr. Schwartz is a proud Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is actively involved in organized dentistry. He previously served as Chair of the Resident Committee and currently serves on the Committee for Early Career Pediatric Dentists, both with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Additionally, he is an active member of the ADEA Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
