Class II resin composites are typical restorations done by all dental practitioners that may be prone to fail if not meticulously completed. Most failures occur in the proximal boxes where it is hard to see and prepare. Careful attention to proximal cleaning and beveling can be achieved with special sandpaper contoured to the proximal areas. Seeing well with adequate lighting is another key to success. Attention to detail on the etching and bonding with generous use of the new nano-flowable composites will result in a dense fill, sealed at all the margins. Learn these simple tricks and plan on your Class II resins lasting until the tooth naturally falls out or at least 20+ years if placed in permanent teeth.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to use contoured metal-backed sandpaper to bevel proximal margins of Cl II resin composites.
Upon completion, participants will be able to use nano-filled flowable composite resin to line Cl II preparations.
Upon completion, participants will be able to consistently place long-lasting Cl II restorations.
