Introduction: The management of caries in pediatric patients involves actions that the professional must address seeking the patient's cooperation and the success of the treatment. In patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), achieving goals effectively is a challenge, since the patient may have problems controlling impulsive behaviors and anxiety may become a predominant factor. However, today it's possible to achieve a therapeutic control of dental caries with minimal invasive treatment, thus improving the patient experience. The objective of this case was to evaluate the management of cavities in a minimally invasive way using the Hall Technique and the experience of a patient with ADHD.
Case Report: The case of a 7-year-old boy, with a diagnosis of ADHD, an extensive cavity ICDAS code 5 in the second upper left molar was presented. When evaluating a behavior with a score of 2 on the Frankl scale, the management of dental caries was decided to be crown placement with Hall Technique. For the Hall Technique, separators were placed distally and mesially of the tooth in one appointment and the stainless steel crown was placed a week later. Two weeks after placement, the fit of the crown and the patient's behavior were evaluated, with successful results in the treatment as well as a notable improvement in behavior.
