Edematous and erythematous gingival tissues can be the result of one or more factors. These factors may include poor oral hygiene, medical conditions, medications, allergies, and pathologies. In order to accurately diagnose and determine the most efficacious treatment, it is important to obtain a detailed medical and dental history, coupled with a thorough examination. If initial conservative treatment modalities fail to resolve the gingival pathology, more invasive treatment options may be needed. This case reports on a 10-year-old who presented with erythematous maxillary anterior gingiva and discusses the treatment attempts, as well as the importance of interprofessionalĀ collaboration and patient compliance to achieve the best possible outcome.
