Purpose: The Special Day Foundation Program (SDFP) focuses on improving patient compliance and comfort in the dental operatory with specialized sensory tools, longer appointment times, and more frequent dental visits. Our study aimed to determine if parental expectations and perceptions of the SDFP influenced overall parental satisfaction.
Method: All children under the age of 21 enrolled in the Special Day Foundation Program were recruited to participate in the survey. The survey was administered to parents to assess how their expectations and perceptions of the program impacted their overall satisfaction and perceived behavioral improvements observed in their child.
Results: Ninety surveys were collected and data analysis is ongoing.
Conclusion: This study will contribute to advancements in personalized dentistry for patients with special health care needs and provide more tools to better promote and set expectations of the SDFP.
