Abstract:



Purpose: This study will analyze pediatric dental-related emergency department visits at Montefiore Medical Center and any subsequent follow-up treatment at the pediatric dental department.



Methods: This is a retrospective chart review of pediatric patients (aged 12 and under) who presented to the Emergency Department (ED) at Montefiore Medical Center (Moses, Weiler, and Wakefield campuses) for dental emergencies between July 1st, 2021 to March 15th, 2024.



Results: Descriptive statistical analysis will be completed to examine dental-related emergency department visits and adherence to follow-up recommendations.


Conclusion: The results of this study will reveal the incidence of emergency department visits related to dental caries, as well as the follow-up compliance rate.
