The absence of multiple teeth in the anterior region can lead to aesthetic, psychological, phonetic, and eruptive disturbances, especially when the loss occurs at an early age. One treatment option for these cases is the use of an anterior removable prosthesis, as it restores functionality, aesthetics, and serves as a space maintainer suitable for the child's growth and development. This helps prevent disorders and complications that may arise due to the premature loss of primary teeth.
Female patient, 4 years 8 months old, attended in 2021 for treatment of severe early childhood caries (ceod=13) and open bite, with prolonged use of a bottle. The first stage was diagnosis and planning. In teeth 5.5, 5.3, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 7.5, 8.4 and 8.5 composite resins were used, in tooth 7.4 pulpectomies with ionomer glass rehabilitation, in teeth 5.2 and 6.2 pulpectomies and resin crowns were performed and finally due to the coronary destruction of teeth 5.1 and 6.1 exodontia was indicated and later rehabilitated with a removable prosthesis.
In the 2023 follow-up, the patient continues to use her removable prosthesis, which has enabled her to maintain aesthetics, phonetics, and prevent eruptive disturbances.
The prosthesis not only serves as a treatment but also significantly contributes to improving her overall well-being, highlighting its positive impact on her daily life and emotional state.
